long overdue

the end of may/beginning of june has been quite a memorable week for me. friends came back for graduation ceremonies, i was able to kick back and relax and put a hold on job hunting for awhile and most importantly my dad and youngest bro came over to 'motivate' my youngest bro to study harder. Heh.

Helena came to Sydney for her graduation. A day before her grad, we did some shopping at DFO where we scored some cheap clothes/belts/bags, had Harry's pie for dinner and Max Brenner for dessert.

the fish market + darling harbour. we forgot to take pics of the food coz we were too hungry. partly because i made them walk to the fish market all the way from central, which took us nearly an hour to get there!

the graduation :) i was actually v late for my graduation ceremony. scary. and we were supposed to shop after the ceremony but i was too slow, we were practically running around and rushing in the shops.

the after party. i was SOOO late coz we had a late lunch, which resulted to a late dinner which ended pretty late + friday night traffic jam.

scenic routes on the way to kiama. we reached kiama 30 minutes before the sun set.. talk about extremely BAD TIMING!!! the blow hole was kinda.. small and not persistent.

i've decided that the best time to get macdonald's is not the middle of the night, def. not in the afternoon (when it's peak hour, even to drive-thru and takeaway) but just before lunchtime, about 11am. That's when the burgers are fresh and crispy, not burnt/overcooked and def not sloppy and ugly-looking. Their quality control SUCKS.

need a new mobile phone, my current one really sucks. i actually missed an interview today coz i didn't get the voice mail that the interviewer left. thank God she called today and asked me to come tmr. this is SO FREAKING BAD.

my mom thinks that i'm silly flying all the way to another country, staying at a shitty place struggling financially, and trying to survive on my own but i'm really hoping that this is a good change.

man, i wished i had the financial capability to cont. studying.. the more reason why i desperately need a JOB right now.

but i guess somehow i'm ok, not too worried coz i have faith that somehow God will provide for our needs. either that or i'm deluded into thinking that i'm superwoman. ha.

nothing much is new. but i'm doing ok. and i'm happy.. although i really need a JOB right now. but i'm hopeful, really hopeful that everything will be better someday :)

started off 2007 with terz. and we've been together/away for almost every month in the first half of 2007), almost killed ourselves by skydiving, visited him twice when he was working in spore, had short trips to melbourne & canberra together, and he flew me all the way to hk from malaysia for xmas. but 2007 ended with me leaving him, even though we both didn't want to.

- improved my cooking skills.i actually applied those cooking skills that i've learnt from ex-hsemate, shing. had cooking sessions every sunday night in the first half of 2007, later spent time cooking with terz.

me and 9 friends almost died being squashed on two korean bbq hot pot tables meant for 8 people. i decided to go korean-style and we actually sat on the floor, making the experience even more unbearable.

this better not be repetition of the past...

i had a sore throat last last monday but because it was merely a sore throat, i had super spicy indonesian food on tuesday.

as predicted, it got from bad to worse.

but, i went to the sporean dance party on friday night, hoping that if i drank a lot a lot, i would be able to cure my sore throat. naturally, i was v v tipsy and i sounded like a man that night.

amazingly, on saturday my sore throat was gone. i even had ice-cream with ernie...

but when monday came, my sore throat was back. and instead of taking care of myself, i had m&m's in class (courtesy of evarn) and to counter attack it, ginger and honey tea. but nooo... it was too late, by nightime i had a headache, fever and a horrible sore throat.

and i lasted for a lot of days.

and now, i still have a sore throat and cough. and i still eat chocs and junk food like i'm superwoman. and i have still been drinking. and i have a 20% test tomorrow! and ha, terence is back and sick because of me!

i would have my own apartment and live by myself!!

i am so so sick of my housemakes making so much noise in the middle of the night,

the kitchen being so so terribly disgusting (ok. they get clean from time to time),

this doesn't bug me that much..

but i get MOST grossed out when people use my stuff and not wash them. and just use them and put them in the sink for DAYS. and worse still, they can even have the nerve to USE YOUR POTS AND RICE COOKER AND LEAVE THEM FOR WEEKS WITHOUT WASHING..

my gosh, my housemate used my rice cooker to cook congee EONS ago ( i didn't even know abt it btw.. ) and the ONE time i wanted to steam 'pau' coz i'm sick, i find out that it hasn't been washed and the congee wasn't even finished and WAS MOULDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WTF.

Seriously. my patience has it limits.

nothing much has been happening. i still can't really cook,my room is still messy & i'm still wayy behind in my studies. really.

had dinner with ange,tez and shing today. i cooked some salted-vege-looking soup and shing made a delicious dinner out of the leftovers from ange's potluck last friday night. and we had dessert too :)

i went for paintball with the sporean society yesterday. i am NOT sporean but i was there coz my friends were there and it seemed fun. BIG MISTAKE!!! it was so not fun.. i had 12 bruises and after sleeping for 12 hrs last night and 2 more hrs this afternoon, my body still aches and i still feel like an abused child.

lesson learnt: never play against sporean guys, esp since they went for NS!!!

and as mentioned, had kickboxing & salsa classes on weds and thurs. i am officially the worst student in both classes! i so knew that i was never meant to do sports, and that's why i was born skinny i guess.

my appetite is growing! seriously. even when i'm full, i'm eating!

it's day 5!

i spent day 1 shopping and drinking at darling harbour.

i spent day 2 at kiama. i shd've but couldn't make it to a hse party that night. instead, i helped an idiot with his work ;p

day 3 was spent at church. had dinner with the guys and went to a hse party. drank. again.

i was 'supposed' to study at day 4. i think i did, for an hour. had authentic home-cooked chicken rice for dinner and beer. and then, clubbing and many more drinks.

coz i live on campus and life is tough, i had to move out of my room again at the end of last year and move into another apartment and room.

i went on a shopping spree!! i love summer sales!!! everything was SO CHEAP, even after converting!!!

i bought the red shoes in the middle today from just jeans. it was originally $24.90 but it was on sale at $9.90 but it was further reduced to only $4.95!!! i was SO SO HAPPY!!!

last saturday (yesterday) i went for this msia & sporean (both separate events) welcome bbq at coogee beach. i got sunburnt!! so not cool!

went there with helena, my ex- colleague

hair was in a mess.. ARGH!!! the WIND!!!

guess i don't really mind being in Sydney. the weather is good, i LOVE the freedom i get, the SALES are great, and there are people around me. but the only thing that is missing is him (and of coz my family and friends who are far far away...)

i miss home.

my 3 months break was wonderful. although i worked for a month, i was able to meet my friends & relatives (ugh), take 3 trips to spore and see the bf almost every weekend. i was really busy, and had not enough time to sleep, or even upload photos and update the blog (then again, maybe i was just lazy)that's why these were really late.

for all you people who have been complaining...

my irritating brothers, ken and fen. mom told me that dad was too lazy to find a name for my youngest brother so he substituted the first alphabeth of my bro, Kenderick's name with F.

my mom and i. i miss my STRAIGHT easy-to-manage hair!

joanne and elaine and i. they both left for USA and Russia at end January. I miss them heaps, and have no idea when i'll be able to see them both again...

jan's will be leaving to the US soon too...

ruth came all the way from Ipoh to see me (and suzanna and adrian and for a holiday). finally get to see her after 3 years!!!. she's still the same crappy gal.

i visited spore three times in three months!! (for a holiday, to find for an apartment for him, and for vday!) met jia ying and eugene and of course terence. had heaps of fun!

he would also come up to see me. we went for late night movies, sunway lagoon, i dragged him to church and we did heaps of shopping together :)

i also met my high school/CIMP friends....

and a few random strangers here and there...

met nabilah, my high school friend for dinner. i met her on the airplane on sunday and surprisingly she's also studying in Usyd. :)

went over to collect my stuff from Jadyn. This time, i took a cab home. (there were like 6 boxes of pots, shoes, clothes,etc..)

so so tired. spent the whole night unpacking! and i'm still not done yet!

my new year's eve was pretty good. broke my record of driving at 150km p/h to the airport to fetch terence, go to church, have dinner, celebrate new year's day and hunt for more food at ss2...

my new year's day was good too. had lunch with my family and some friends and watched a movie with the bf, had dinner with my family and cousin and mom's sisters and grandma and dad's relatives.. and then, wing sun and joanne and terence and i headed for laundry at the curve.

last Sunday i bought a Guess bag from Parkson at KLCC. I bought it because i thought it was kinda nice and it was 50% off!!! but then later i realized that i don't like it that much. So today my brother sent me to the LRT station to get to KLCC so that i can get it refunded. I got a credit note back because I paid by credit card. I will definetely but Parkson stuff from now on.

unfortunately my brother got into a car accident on the way from the LRT station to golf so now we're CARless and now i have to take the LRT & BUS to get to mid valley tomorrow!!!

i took a cab home today and i was asked the weirdest question by a chinese malaysian cab driver. he asked me, "Are you chinese?" I've been asked whether I was Korean or from China or Japan but seriously, never in my life has anyone in Malaysia asked whether I was a chinese. weird.

weird coincidence

last semester, both terence and i had a subject that we both found difficult and did terribly in in the final paper. I was really scared because I needed to pass the final paper, which was worth 60% to pass the particular subject. I went into the exam hall unprepared and I was so scared when I saw the exam paper because I seriously don't think I knew for sure how to answer those questions. My tutor told me that last year, a lot of students failed in this subject because the final exam was really difficult. My only reassurance was that everyone i knew (except Andy, DAMN him) thought that it was really difficult and maybe, hopefully they would scale the marks.

I was so ready to fail that I actually planned to change my finance major to international business, which apparently is relatively easier. And i was so so scared that I didnt check my results till a few days ago even though it was out since early dec. Worse still, I was talking to a friend sometime ago and he told me that he got 52% in his paper, which is 3 marks higher that the fail grade!

so i prayed. hard. before i checked my results. and checked really really slowly..

thank God i got a 61% for that subject!!!

and weird enough, Terence got 61% in the subject that he was so sure that he would fail in and not graduate!
